Alone Underground

Act 1

Austin Williams

Act 1 of 4 of Alone Underground.

Julia Morgan was born in an underground shelter in the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse. Now, having grown into an adult, she is the only one left, kept company by the voices in her head—voices that resemble people no longer with her. The show begins with her receiving an all-clear signal from outside, telling her it's finally safe to return to the surface. However, going outside means leaving behind the only home she's ever known and entering a world she can't imagine. As Julia weighs the decision to leave or stay, she reflects on the past that led her to this point, and the people she loved and lost on her way to adulthood. If she wants any hope of facing the future, she'll have to come to terms with the past.
